While the events are traditionally Indian, guests can where Western Formal or Indian formal attire.
Indian Formal Clothing Types:
For Women:
Saree (or Sari): A long, elegant draped fabric worn over a blouse and skirt (great for formal events like the ceremony or reception).
Lehenga (or Lehenga Choli): A skirt + crop top + optional scarf (dupatta). Very popular and festive, great for weddings!
Salwar Kameez / Anarkali: A tunic-style top with pants and a scarf. Comfortable, modest, and easy to wear (great for any event).
Indo-Western: Fusion outfits that mix Indian and modern style, often easier if you’re new to Indian clothing.
For Men:
Kurta Pajama: A long tunic with fitted pants. Simple, comfortable, and perfect for most events.
Sherwani: A more formal, structured long coat worn over pants (great for the wedding ceremony).
Nehru Jacket: A vest-style jacket worn over a kurta or even a dress shirt for a semi-formal look.
Indo-Western: Modern fusion outfits combining Western and Indian styles.
Tips:
Bright colors are encouraged—don’t be afraid of color!
You generally don’t need to worry about matching specific outfits to events unless noted.
Comfortable shoes are a good idea (there may be standing/dancing!).
If in doubt, cocktail or semi-formal attire is perfectly fine too.
