What is a Barat?
The barat is a wedding procession that escorts Groom to the wedding entrance with music and dance by Grooms family and friends. He is then welcomed by the Bride's family.
What to expect for the day of the wedding ceremony?
Since our ceremony blends both Hindu and Western traditions, we wanted to give you an overview of the ceremony day.
At 3:00 PM, we’ll kick things off with the Baraat, which is the groom’s celebratory procession. It’s a lively, music-filled entrance where guests are encouraged to join in, walk, dance, and enjoy the moment as we make our way into the venue lobby.
Once the Baraat arrives in the lobby, we’ll have a brief Milini ceremony, where close family members from both sides greet and welcome each other.
After that, we’ll invite everyone to take their seats inside the Preston Bradley Hall as the formal ceremony begins promptly at 3:30.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
